A trick I learned from the Amish: To preserve tomato seed over the winter, slice and place on top of a (labeled) bucket of dirt. Place in a cool, dark place over the winter (do not water, do not touch, no light, nada… nature does the work). Come spring, place in a south facing window and water. When 2″ high, separate into small cups. I’ve got 4 types of tomatoes I’m preserving for next year!
